This is the only publicly released video recording of this acclaimed, sold out production with the original West End revival cast. This was my first time recording and as a result, mistakes were made. Foolishly, I set the exposure to automatic, so the recording suffered from spotlight washout (I haven't made this mistake since). The washout has mostly been fixed in editing but it's impossible to fully correct. The recording has more zooms than I would like, to prevent further washout. Fortunately, this production is minimalistic and performance-focused so it doesn't hinder the overall experience of the show. The recording is mainly filmed in close-ups and mediums. A head is sometimes visible in the wide shots of the musical numbers. Recording includes the curtain call and marquee.

Master Notes:
Pretty good capture of the ART's production of Gatsby: An American Myth. Due to a camera battery error, there is a roughly 4 minute blackout at 00:02:23 where I replaced the sound with audio from my June 2024 audio until I was able to get my camera filming again. Apart from that, decent capture with a lot of zooms and pretty good audio quality. Part of the right half of the stage is blocked by a head but I managed to film around it pretty well apart from a few spots.

Actors used the whole space, so on the extreme sides, action is missed. Heads always visible in shot but don't block much unless actors are sitting. During the last song, the person in front of me was annoyingly waving his arms above his head. Actors were occasionally right in front of me, so there are some nice close shots of them. Occasional underexposure, and increased readjustments and shakiness throughout. Shot from house right center aisle. Filmed in 4K, edited to 1080p. TLDR: Trans people being iconic with some obstruction.

A few heads obstruct the bottom of the video and right side of the stage but action is captured well. Recording gets better as show progresses. Not included in the recording, but the director went on stage before the show to announce the historic situation of all 6 u/s covering roles, and since they've been super busy, it might happen that some of the actor faces won't match the ones on the video projections (which is more visible during RTMIS videos, and they were creative in solving that in one of the videos involving MwE), and it is possible that you might see actors reading the script on stage (which slightly happened). This video is a gem for capturing such a unique performance.

Delightful mess-up when Eden drops one of the cookies during the Madeleine scene. Exceptional audience that actually appreciates this beautiful art that has become my favorite show this year. So sad it didn't last too long on Broadway, because it truly is a gem of a show.

Decent video of this production.The video is completely blind shot and wide shot. Included is an edit with added zooms in post. The first 30 or so minutes in Act 2 are missing due to camera issues so it's just audio unfortunately. The video starts again at Good Thing Going. There is a lady in front of me with a really large ugly hat in Act 1. This blocks most action dead center stage but is worked around as well as possible. Act 2 is a little better because the hat is not on her head. Overall not the best video but it's watchable, especially if you watch the edited version. This cast was fantastic.

This is perfectly captured with no dropouts, no obstruction, and only some slight washout. It's filmed in 16:9, with a mix of wides, mediums, and close-ups. The sound is excellent. Includes fireworks display, curtain call, encore, and playbill scans.

Notes:
Semi-blind-shot filmed over & between heads. Significant drifting and ceiling views during times when I wasnt checking my screen, and lots of movement from holding the camera too close to my body when I felt too exposed. (Its a small space in the round.) Theres also a ~3 minute dropout starting around 01:17:30 when the camera battery died – secondary audio from the same show is inserted in the gap. Having said all that, you can follow everything that happens in this weird/wonderful show, and certain scenes came out pretty nice in the footage. I included an auto-stabilized version in the folder, which might help a little bit with dizziness if youre sensitive to that, but I dont claim that to be a real fix.

Solid capture of one of my favorite shows currently running in the world. Shot in a fantastic mix of wides, mediums, and close-ups. Some increased wandering, shaking, and re-adjusting throughout. Act 1 is impeccable, some of my best work, with only a bar in the way at the bottom that doesn't block anything. Act 2 is more mixed, especially in the first 20-ish minutes, but still captures a lot of action with only a few dropouts throughout and some obstruction and wandering/shaking that goes away afterwards. Some rustling can be heard throughout. Overall a very good capture.
